LEXUS MAINTENANCE: THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SERVICE 1, SERVICE 2 & SERVICE 3
LEXUS MAINTENANCE: THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SERVICE 1, SERVICE 2 & SERVICE 3
Posted on October 16, 2022
Lexus has designed a precise maintenance schedule for each of its vehicles to ensure they perform at the highest standards of excellence for years to come. Lexus also invests heavily in the training of their technicians so they are well-versed with every electrical and mechanical component of your vehicle.
While regular maintenance can feel like a hassle at times, bringing your vehicle into the experts for regular servicing will safeguard your investment and protect against expensive and often avoidable repairs down the road.

LEXUS MAINTENANCE COSTS ARE RELATIVELY AFFORDABLEÂ
Lexus is the luxury division of Toyota which means maintenance and repairs are relatively affordable compared to other luxury automotive brands. In fact, RepairPal ranked Lexus in sixth place overall for its low ownership costs. According to them, Lexus owners spend about $765 CAD per year on maintenance and repairs, though it is important to remember that these costs grow as your vehicle gets older, as is the case with any vehicle.
Lexus maintenance was crafted in tandem with the same engineers that designed your vehicle. That means every component was thoughtfully considered when creating a maintenance schedule that keeps your Lexus in great condition and running as it was designed to from day one. While skipping a recommended service may be appealing when life gets busy, this can lead to things going unchecked and minor problems developing into larger and more costly issues as time goes on.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SERVICE 1, SERVICE 2 & SERVICE 3
Â
Each Lexus model follows a specific maintenance schedule and the services that are due and recommended by us are based on a combination of the vehicles’ age, mileage, and service history.
Many guests often ask what the main differences are between each of these service packages. Essentially, Service 1 does not include an oil change, Service 2 includes an oil change and vehicle inspection and tire rotation (if required), and Service 3 includes an oil change, vehicle inspection, tire rotation (if required), and brake servicing.
While it might feel like Service 1 is not important because it does not include an oil change, if you decide to skip it that would mean we are only seeing your vehicle once a year, which is only four times within the vehicle’s warranty period (assuming you are an average driver and your service is due every six months).
This does not give our Certified Lexus Technicians ample opportunity to inspect the vehicle and catch issues that could be potentially covered under warranty. If you decide to have Service 1 done as recommended by your maintenance schedule, that would mean we would inspect your vehicle eight times before the warranty is up (again, assuming you are an average driver and not going more than 8,000km every six months). This means the chances of catching a potentially bigger issue are much higher and also well within your time period to have it potentially covered by Lexus Canada.
THE BEST WAY TO PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT IS REGULAR SERVICE APPOINTMENTS
Lexus vehicles are some of the least expensive vehicles to maintain compared to other Luxury brands. This is due to the fact they are extremely reliable — as outlined multiple years in a row by the Automotive Reliability Report — and that they share some parts with Toyota. Keep in mind, maintenance costs vary depending on the model you own. High-performance engines, hybrids and higher trim models do require more time and attention over the years.
What does this all mean for you? If you recently purchased a new Lexus you probably want to know everything you can do to protect your investment and keep your vehicle running smoothly for years to come. Regular Lexus maintenance plays the biggest role in ownership and so we highly recommend getting to know the recommended maintenance schedule for your particular vehicle and sticking to it.
Think of it this way — for every few hundred dollars you spend on regular service appointments, you could be saving yourself thousands of dollars down the road in costly repairs. Especially if we are able to catch issues covered by warranty before that warranty expires.
