New Vehicle Lexus Warranty Explained 

You just purchased a new Lexus. Congratulations!

Every vehicle comes with a New Vehicle Warranty that protects from potential defects in manufacturing materials or workmanship. Your Lexus New Vehicle Warranty comes into effect the day you register your warranty.

Details are listed below. 

— Comprehensive Coverage: Repairs on any original Lexus part of the vehicle that is defective in material or workmanship under normal use 

Term: 48 months/80,000 km, whichever comes first.

— Powertrain & Safety Restraints

Term: 72 months/110,000 km, whichever comes first.

— Corrosion Perforation: Any body sheet metal found, under normal use, to have developed a perforation (hole through the body panel) from corrosion due to defects in material or workmanship.

Term: 72 months, regardless of distance travelled.

— Emission Control Components

Term: 48 months/80,000 km, whichever comes first.

— Major Emission Control Components

Term: 96 months/130,000 km

— Major Emission Component Performance Warranty

Term: 24 months/40,000 km

— Adjustments: Service adjustments found out of alignment with factory specification (not usually associated with the replacement of parts)

Term: Usually 12 months/20,000 km, but see Dealership for details.

— Hybrid-Related Components: Applies to the battery control module, hybrid vehicle control module and the inverter/converter.

Term: 96 months/160,000 km

— Hybrid High Voltage Battery: This warranty covers repairs to the hybrid battery that is defective in material or workmanship under normal use and maintenance.

Term: 120 months/240,000 km

Extra Care Protection (ECP) Explained

Lexus South Pointe is pleased to offer Extra Care Protection (ECP) extended service contracts to our clients who wish to have additional coverage and peace of mind on top of the coverage listed above.

Our Extra Care Protection Plans offer coverage of up to three years of regularly scheduled maintenance plus several other advantages including vehicle rental assistance and mechanical protection. 

One of the best perks of Extra Care Protection (ECP) is that it is fully transferable to another owner.

So if you decide to sell your Lexus and upgrade to a newer model within the first few years of ownership, the new owner receives the Extra Care Protection which adds a significant boost to the resale value of your Lexus. 

Extra Care Protection Advantages

 

TRIP INTERRUPTION COVERAGE

If a part of your vehicle that is already covered by New Vehicle Warranty fails while you are on the road (80 km or further from home), ECP will provide up to $100 per day for things like accommodations, meals and other forms of transportation (Uber, etc).

VEHICLE RENTAL ASSISTANCE

Depending on the circumstances, ECP provides you with backup transportation for up to 5 days, plus up to an additional 5 days if parts are on backorder.

TRAVEL PLANNING ASSISTANCE

ECP includes a personalized travel planner that comes with various tools to help you make every road trip your best including colour maps; alternate routes and a trip log, tour and accommodation directories, must-see attractions and more.

ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE

Adding ECP to your existing warranty means you get emergency roadside and mechanical breakdown assistance for the entire length of your contract, with unlimited kilometres. That includes access to everything from towing to battery boosts, emergency tire changes, roadside gas delivery, and more. 

MECHANICAL PROTECTION

ECP allows you to extend coverage on your vehicle parts from the standard 48 months/80,000 km to a longer term, including Powertrain.

TIRE ROAD HAZARD PROTECTION

If your original vehicle tires are damaged while driving, receive protection (which includes installation and balancing) for up to 36 months or 50,000 km.
