WHAT’S NEW FOR THE 2023 LEXUS UX
Posted on August 18, 2022
Lexus Canada has released new details about the highly anticipated 2023 Lexus UX 250h expected to arrive at Lexus South Pointe in late summer 2022. This blog post will break down what to expect from the 2023 UX including new features and upgrades, the hybrid-only powertrain option, and the latest Lexus multimedia entertainment system that will excite every type of buyer.
WHAT’S NEW FOR THE 2023 LEXUS UX
While the Lexus UX has been an incredibly popular option for buyers shopping in the luxury crossover segment, this city-savvy SUV adds even more functionality and styling than ever before. What makes the 2023 UX different from the 2022 UX includes:
HYBRID ONLY
Lexus has dropped the gas-only engine inside the 2023 UX. Instead, this subcompact crossover now comes exclusively with the 2.0-litre inline-four hybrid setup that puts out 181 horsepower.
LARGER LEXUS TOUCHSCREEN INTERFACE
Inside the 2023 UX 250h you will find the new Lexus Interface multimedia system that comes with a much larger, higher-resolution touchscreen display than the previous generation. The screen comes standard in 8-inches or you can upgrade to the 12.3-inch touch display which is placed even closer to the driver for ease of use.
Lexus also included an anti-glare technology which makes a big difference in the sunshine. You can use the system through either voice commands or touch. Or, a combination of both.
There are a few changes to the wireless charging port, which has been slightly elongated for larger phones and now includes LED lighting which makes it easier to use in the dark. Lexus also added two new USB charging connections to the front console for added connectivity and convenience on the road.
NEW VOICE ASSISTANT
The 2023 UX is now home to the new Lexus Voice Assistant which was introduced in the 2023 NX. To get it started, simply press the button on the steering wheel and say “Hey Lexus.” The system is designed with two microphones and can drown out background noise in order to listen to your voice alone. Then you can use simple voice commands to access your media, change the song, turn up the heat, and more.
NEW F SPORT DESIGN GRADE OFFERED
The 2023 UX 250h AWD takes on a more distinct look for the F SPORT Series, featuring F SPORT wheels, grille, dark roof rails, a black roof, moonroof, rain sensing wipers, fog and cornering lamps, automatic headlamp leveling, and painted wheel arch molding.
NEW ACTIVE VARIABLE SUSPENSION (AVS)
Available on the F-SPORT Series 1 and 2 packages, the 2023 UX 250h features the new Lexus Active Variable Suspension (AVS). Designed to absorb minor road vibrations, the new AVS system makes the driving experience crisper, quieter, and more comfortable. Because it absorbs bumps and shocks on the road, drivers enjoy better steering responsiveness and a smoother ride.
EXPANDED FUNCTIONALITY OF LEXUS SAFETY SYSTEM+ 2.5
Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 is added to the new 2023 UX and it includes some exciting new upgrades to an already superior suite of safety features.
For example, features like Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) which helps you stay in the centre of your lane have been improved with AI tech to make steering corrections a lot more smooth.
Dynamic Radar Cruise Control has been upgraded with a curve speed-control function that slows you down depending on the size of the corner up ahead.
Finally, the Lexus Pre-Collision System (PCS) includes an upgraded single-lens camera and millimetre-wave radar so you can more easily detect pedestrians and cyclists in the dusk and oncoming vehicles before right turns.
